β“˜Use your weight today. Do not use your pre-surgery clothing size or size down for stronger compression.

Recommended body-garment size

L130–150 lb

Based on a current weight of 145 lb.

βœ“This recommendation already allows for expected post-surgical swelling and typical use of lipo foam or recovery boards underneath.
1

Use current weight

Height and everyday clothing size do not determine your Dr. Shape garment size.

2

Allowances are included

The recommended ranges consider expected swelling plus commonly worn foam and boards.

3

Follow your physician

Your physician's post-operative sizing, compression, and wear instructions always come first.

✚
Important: Do not size up solely for swelling or size down for stronger compression. If your weight falls between two garment sizes, choose the larger size. If your physician gives you different sizing instructions, follow their direction.

A separate method for bras

Compression surgical bra sizing

The surgical bra is the exception: it uses an underbust measurement rather than body weight.

Use the number from your bra size

Your band size is your Dr. Shape bra size

Do not include the cup letter. For example, if you normally wear a 36C, choose size 36. Our surgical bra cup is expandable and designed to adapt to your cup size.

If you are unsure of your usual band size, measure directly under the bust with a soft measuring tape. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug, and do not measure over bulky clothing.

Bra size Underbust
30 25–27 in
32 27–29 in
34 29–31 in
36 31–33 in
38 33–35 in
40 35–37 in
42 37–39 in
↔How to measure: Wrap the tape around your rib cage directly beneath the breast tissue. Keep it straight across your back.
